This is a private 3-night trip to Salalah, in Oman's far south, for travelers who want a short, unhurried break by the sea. Two guided days cover the town, the frankincense trade, the mountains and the coast. The rest of the time is yours.
Salalah does not look like the Gulf you expect. Coconut and banana plantations run to the edge of town. The Qara Mountains rise behind the coast. For centuries this was the land of frankincense, and the resin is still sold by the handful in the souk.
The seasons shape the trip. From late June to early September the khareef monsoon brings mist, light rain and green hills. From October to April the sky clears, the sea calms and the beaches are at their best.
Suits: couples, families, and women traveling solo who want a calm few days with the logistics handled.
